Kali
Surface : 12 548 hectares (± 125.5 square km)
Number of claims : 258
Percentage held by Augyva : 100 % - since 2003
Location of the property : Located in the James Bay Territory (33C05), in Quebec, Kali property is accessible by plane on the Opinaca river and on Kali Lake. The property is also accessible during winter with all-terrain vehicles by following a 16 km road starting at the 410th km of the James Bay road 109 linking the city of Matagami to the locality of Radisson.
Commodity : Copper (Cu), Gold (Au), Silver (Ag), Molybdenum (Mo)
Geological Environment : The Kali property is located at the Western end of the Eastmain Greenstone Belt. It consists in a magmatic porphyric/mantos (Cu, Au, Ag, Mo) mineralization, similar to these of Eau Claire (33B04) and Opinaca (33C01, 33C02 and 33C08). The Cu-Ag-Au mineralization of Lake Kali is hosted within crystal felsic tuf of Wabamisk formation near the SE edge of the Kali pluton. This intrusion is generally porphyric (blue quartz and plagioclase) and of similar age (2 701 Ma) with Wabamisk Formation (2 690 – 2 712 Ma: Moukhsil et al. 2001). Mineralization consists of decimetric to metric bodies and regular structures of pyrite-chalcopyrite-malachite disseminated within the altered (silicified and argillic) host lithologies. The mineralized structures are oriented ENE-WSW and WNW-ESE and are pre- to syn tectonic.
Previous work
Line cutting and a MAG-TBF survey have been done on the Kali property in 1995 and 1996. Further to mapping and geochemistry work done in 1997, an important polymetallic deposit was discovered. Grab samples results gave : 35 000 ppm and 33 000 ppm in copper; 1 376 ppb and 684 ppb in gold; and, 41,4 ppm and 29,4 ppm in silver (A.Belkabir, Ph.D. 1998)
Work done in 2006-2007
Sampling, soil geochemistry, geophysics have been made in July 2006. Numerous samples coming from pedogeochemical surveys and lithogeochemical surveys were assayed by ALS CHEMEX of Val d’Or (Quebec). Furthermore, in order to delineate new sulphide targets, a VTEM airborne geophysical survey totalizing 914 line kilometres was performed by Geotech Ltd of Aurora (Ontario), over the Kali property in November 2006. Reports and maps were produced in February 2007, and are under study. Diamond drilling will follow on priority targets.
